The safari takes us through the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, which has Kenya's highest concentration of wildlife. Then head back north to the secluded lakes Bogoria and Baringo, a haven for avian enthusiasts and naturalists.

Itinerary

Day 1

NAIROBI/MASAI MARA

Leave your hotel at 8:00 a.m. and travel south along the Great Rift Valley's floor. After eating lunch along the way, ascend the western wall to explore Hemingway's country's Serengeti plains. Arrive in the Masai Mara Game Reserve in the late afternoon. Sunday game drive. Overnight at the Camp and dinner there.

Day 2

MASAI MARA

A full day was spent hunting for plains wildlife, including elephants, zebras, wildebeest, rhinos, buffalo, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Food and accommodations at the Camp.

Day 3

MASAI MARA

Full-day game viewing in the Mara with the option of a neighboring Masai village visit or a nature walk in between dinner breaks. Head in the camp for dinner and the night.

Day 4

MASAI MARA / NAKURU

Leave the Camp after breakfast and travel to Nakuru. En route, lunch is served. L. Nakuru is known for having a wide array of well-known birds from over the world. Other animals including the rhino, waterbucks, impala, buffalo, and gazelle can be seen in the gardens nearby. Dinner and a night spent camping.

Day 5

L. NAKURU / LAKE BOGORIA

Spend the morning seeing animals at Lake Nakuru, then go to Lake Baringo in the late afternoon. For an additional fee, those who like can arrange a boat tour to see the numerous birds that live in this lake. Dinner and a night spent camping.

Day 6

LAKE BOGORIA / NAIROBI

View the flamingos in their numbers while strolling around this natural lake. Walking close to hot springs requires caution because they are quite hot. Afternoon departure for Nairobi via Nakuru. Dropped off where you choose.
